Walking farther than usual, carrying an uneven load or picking up a tired child can place extra demands on your back. Unsupportive shoes and uneven sidewalks may contribute as well.
A few minutes of easy movement may help you feel more comfortable before a long walk. Try walking around the house and gently moving your shoulders, hips and ankles. There is no need for an intense stretching routine.
